What is it with spring? Too much focus on cycles, renewal, birth, discovery, awakening… and everything happens so fast! After the long winter months, such sudden change is overwhelming. Very much a jolt into being, action, attention.
But here I am bemoaning what I’ve craved for so long. Only bitter of having lost the connection with nature, the nonchalant ease of seeing the true visage of each flower, acquired over the summer months. I will find it again, though, and walk the meadows and glades unaware of how quickly those days will pass too.

Pane or pain? Today would be the latter! April should be resplendent, blossoming spring: first buds, flowers and long awaited sunshine. Not this year! 4th of the month and it’s been snowing all day. Sure, it will be 11C and 15C this week-end, so they say, but today was all about gray.
And why can’t gray be beautiful? It only takes a bit of imagination to see energy and life everywhere!

Things are not always what they seem to be. More interesting though, is to show an aspect that usually isn’t perceived: reveal what it can be. Essentially, you create a new dimension… which is probably just interpretation, and creativity.
Ice is wonderful in that respect. The combination of translucency and reflections can allow endless possibilities and many beautiful and unexpected surprises. Aerial view from high altitude or ice close-up? I like to think it’s both!
